14 held for fraudulence in admission test

Staff Correspondent, Tangail: At least 14 students have been held along with electronic devices during the admission test for 2017-18 session of Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University in Tangail.

Examination control committee led by the university's Vice-Chancellor (VC) Dr. Alauddin and detective branch (DB) unit of the district nabbed them conducting drive during the admission test on Friday.

In the drive, nine electronic devices, nine batteries, seven headphones and a pen drive were seized.

The detainees were known as Abdullah Al-Mamun, son of Aftab Uddin from Netrokona, Ishtiak Ahmed, son of Jafar Alam from Cox's Bazar, Mostafizur Rahman Milton, son of Nazrul Islam, and Majnu Rahman, son of Joynal Abedin, from Kurigram, Zubair Alam, son of Alamgir Hossain, and Abu Zobair Mamun, son of Abdul Matin, from Siranjganj, Shahin Alam Jony, son of Jahirul Islam, Asaduzzaman Ahad, son of Deluwar Hossain, Aminul Islam, son of Abdul Hossain, Naibur Rahman, son of Bablu Mia, from Tangail, Rafat Bin Rashed, son of Rashedul Islam, from Kushtia, Habibur Rahman, son of Abul Kalam Azad, from Manikganj, Masud Mia, son of Khokon Mia of Mymensingh and Pradeep Pal, son of Babul Pal of Gazipur.

Md Ashraf Hossain, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Tangail Detective Branch (DB), confirmed the news.
