2 auto-rickshaw passengers crushed to death by bus

Staff Correspondent: At least two auto-rickshaw passengers were crushed to death by a speedy bus in capital’s Kakrail crossing in the early hours of Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Asif (35) and Rubel (34), the both hailed from Siddhirganj in Narayanganj.

Rubel’s father Jamal Sheikh said Asif and Rubel were the employees of Padma Oil Company and they were returning home after collecting money from Bogra. A speedy bus ran over their auto-rickshaw in Kakrail Crossing around 3.30am, leaving two dead on the spot.

Auto-rickshaw driver Thandu Mia has been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
