2 bankers held over Japanese citizen murder

Staff Correspondent: Detective police detained two officials of Brac Bank from Rajshahi in connection of their alleged involvement in Japanese citizen Kunio Hoshi murdering.

The detainees are- Brac Bank sales and service officer Sultan Nahid and Credit Officer HM Shahriar.

A team of detective police detained them when the bank officials were returning home from their office on Thursday night.

Confirming the matter, Sub-Inspector Azahar Ali of Rajshahi Metropolitan Detective police said that the law enforcers detained four people and after investigation police released two officials.

Kunio Hoshi, 66, was gunned down on October 3, allegedly by the radical Islamic State, in the northern district of Rangpur where he was living a simple life running a grass farm.

Kunio Hoshi was shot dead at Alutary village of Kaunia upazila in the same fashion as Italian citizen Cesare Tavella was killed five days earlier in Dhaka`s diplomatic zone Gulshan.
