2 'drug traders' killed in 'gunfight' with BGB

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: Two suspected drug trader was killed in a “gunfight” with the members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar early Wednesday.

The deceased were known as Md Jabbar Ali, son of Jabed Mia, 34, hailed from Narayanganj and Md Asmaul Sawdagar, 35, son of Rezaul Sawdagar, hailed from Charmukundi village of Matlab Dakshin upazila in Chandpur.

BGB-2 Battalion commander lieutenant colonel Md Faisal Hasan Khan said BGB patrol team signaled some people in Damdamia area of Naf River early Wednesday. Meanwhile, they opened fire aiming the BGB personnel. In reply, BGB also opened fire. Later, two bullet-hit bodies were found in the area.

10,000 pieces of Yaba pills, a gun and three rounds of bullets were recovered from the spot.
