2 killed as covered van hits motorcycle in city

Staff Correspondent: Two youths were killed after a covered van rammed their motorcycle in Shamibag area of old Dhaka on Wednesday midnight.

The deceased were identified as Salauddin Rahel (27) and Rasel Akon (25).

Another young man Hannan was injured in the accident.

According to sources, the three youths were going home from a wedding party at Lalbagh on a motorcycle while it was hit by a covered van in the area.

Soon after the accident, three injured motorbike riders were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where doctors declared Salauddin and Rasel dead.

Sub-Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH police outpost, confirmed the matter.
Hannan is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
