2 students jailed for proxy exams at JU

JU Correspondent: A mobile court has sentenced two students to a month imprisonment each on charges of giving proxy examinations for others.

The judgment was handed down around 9:00pm on Monday.

Meanwhile, a student was released upon signing bond as charges brought against him were not proved.

The convicts are Kamruzzaman Razzak, honors second semester student of Mechanical Engineering Department of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET),  Mohaiminul Islam Salman of Department of Geological Sciences of Jahangirnagar University (46th batch).

Student who was released is identified as Abdullah Al-Noman of Noakhali Government College.

Executive magistrate Pranab Kumar Ghosh, also assistant commissioner (land), who came up with the order, confirmed the news.
