Couple burnt to death in Ctg

Staff Correspondent: A couple were burnt alive as their rented house caught fire last night in Bakalia thana of the port city.

The victims were Syed Ahmed, 36, and his wife Rina Akter, 28.

Mohammad Hamid of Chittagong Medical College and Hospital`s police post said the couple were caught by fire last night while they were sleeping. Neighbours rescued them in the morning and took them to the hospital where duty doctor declared them dead.

However, the cause of the fire could not be identified immediately.
