25 affected by mass hysteria in Faridpur

Faridpur Correspondent: Twenty-five students of a high school suddenly became unconscious in the classrooms in Nagarkanda Upazila of the district on Saturday.

School headmaster Shahjahan Sardar said that a girl of Bilgobindapur High School in Dangi Union of the upazila fell ill and became unconscious during school assembly. Later, more students also fell ill in classroom and fell down on the floor.  

Resident Medical Officer of Faridpur Medical College said that the students were attacked with mass hysteria. It is a psychological disease.

"There is nothing to worry about the disease. After getting primary treatment, the students can go to their home," he added.
