3 DU students return to hall

Staff Correspondent: The Dhaka University authorities have brought back the three students of Kabi Sufia Kamal Hall who were handed over to their guardians.

Kabi Sufia Kamal Hall provost Sabita Rezwana Rahman confirmed the matter on Friday night.

She said two students returned to the hall on Friday noon, and one returned around 4.00am.

The three students are Farhin and Sharmin Akter Shuvo of Mathematics Department and Kamrun Nahar Liza of Theatre and Performance Studies Department.

Several students of Kabi Sufia Kamal hall of Dhaka University (DU) were allegedly forced out of their dormitory early Friday.

The Bangladesh Sadharan Chhatra Odhikar Sangrakkhan Parishad, the platform of quota protesters, on Friday demanded resignation of Dhaka University's Kabi Sufia Kamal Hall provost Sabita Rezwana Rahman over “expelling” several students from the dormitory.

Denying the allegation, the DU authorities said three students were handed over to their families for their alleged involvement in spreading rumour through Facebook.
