3 Ctg high-ups get life threat

Staff Correspondent: Through a mobile SMS on Wednesday militant outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team has sent death threats to three high profile personalities in Chittagong.

The three are- The Vice-Chancellor of Primer University in Chittagong, Dr Anupom Sen, International Crime Tribunal Prosecutor Rana Das Gupta and Additional Prosecutor of Chittagong court Ashok Kumar Das.

The Kotwali Police Station`s acting Officer-in-Charge (OC), Jasim Uddin, has confirmed the threat to risingbd.com.

The city Detective Branch, however, has started investigation, in this regard, says the OC.

Earlier in mid June, this year, the Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique and 23 other high profile personalities in the country have received death threats through a letter.

Ansarullah Bangla Team-13 had sent the letter to the VC office at DU at that time.

A General Diary has been field in this connection with the police station immediately after the letter was sent to the VC office.

Journalist Abed Khan, Dhaka University Prof Dr Anwar Hossain of history department, war crimes researcher Shahriar Kabir, Liberation War Museum trustee and researcher Mofidul Haque, cultural personalities Nasiruddin Yusuf Bachchu, Ramendu Majumdar, Gonojagoron Mancha spokesperson Imran H Sarker, Journalist Shaymol Datt, Professor Jafar Iqbal, Munni Shaha, BCL leader Siddiqi Nazmul Alam were also included among others in letter.
