3 killed as lightning strikes boat in Narsingdi

Narsingdi Correspondent: At least 3 were killed and 10 others injured as a thunderbolt struck the boat carrying them on the Meghna River near Sreenagar village in Sadar upazila on Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Farida Yesmin, 50, Rehana Begum, 40, and Selim Mia, 45, all hailing from Alokbali village under Sadar upazila.
According to sources, the boat was hit by the lightning strike in the afternoon while it was moving toward Alokbali village from upazila Sadar amid the thunder shower, leaving the trio dead on the spot and 10 others injured.
The injured were rushed to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital.
