3 killed in Sirajganj road crash

At least three people were killed in a road accident in Hamkuria area of Tarash upazila in Sirajganj district on Thursday night.

The deceased were identified as Monirul Islam Shaha, 36, son of Yusuf Ala Shaha at Gurudaspur upazila in Natore district, Shakil Mia, 20, son of Mucha Shaha of the same area, and Ashraful Islam, 30, son of Ayej Uddin.

Officer-in-Charge of Hatikumrul Highway Thana Nurunnabi Prodhan said two traders were going to Gurudaspur with soybean oil. But a speedy vehicle hit their engine-run van on Hatikumrul-Bonpara highway around 8.30pm, leaving three dead on the spot.

Police recovered the dead bodies but the speedy vehicle managed to flee from the spot.
