3 of a family die in Noakhali lightning

Noakhali Correspondent: Three members of a family were killed as lightning struck them at Muchapur union of Companiganj upazila of the district on Tuesday noon.

The deceased were identified as Saidul Huq, 35 his wife Sharmin Laizu, 25 and son Himel, 2.

Muchapur Union Chairman Shaheen Chowdhury said that the couple and their kid were returning from a wedding program riding motorcycle.

On the way, they took shelter at a roadside shope due to sudden rain. They were struck by lightning that left them dead on the spot, the chairman added.

Confirming the matter, Companiganj police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Fazle Rabbi said that on forces went to the spot.
