‘40 locomotives to be supplied early before time’

US-based company ‘Progress Rail’ has assured to supply the 40 new broad-gauge locomotives (rail engines) before the scheduled time, said Railway Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujan.

The news was revealed in a press conference held at Bangladesh Consulate in New York on Saturday.

Earlier, the minister visited the consulate on Friday and told over the assurance of advance supply.

He said, “The locomotives would be supplied between March, 2021 and February, 2022.

He further said, “Bangladesh will use locomotives run by LNG and diesel.
