5 Singapore back militants held in city

Staff Correspondent: Chief of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Monirul Islam said that police detained five Bangladeshis who were returned from Singapore on April 29.

The detainees are- Mizanur Rahman alias Galib Hasan, Raha Mia Pailot, Alamgir Hossain, Tanzimul Islam and Masud Rana alias Santu Khan.

Monirul Islam made the disclosure while addressing a press conference at DMP media centre on Tuesday.

He said that police conducted a drive in Banasree area in the capital and detained the militants around 11:30am.  

Meanwhile, police also recovered some papers and passports from their possession.

The detainees went Singapore in between 2007 to 2011 and got involved with militant activities.
