6 militant suspects held in Cox's Bazar

Cox's Bazar Correspondent: Police held six suspected militants including three Rohingya people from a residential hotel of the district's Kosturghat area on Sunday night.

The Rohingyas are identified as Nurul Amin, 30, resident of Block-H of Kutupalang registered Rohingya shelter camp and Mohammad Yasin, 38, of Block-I, and Abdul Aziz, a Madrasa staff of Link Road Muhuriparha of the district sadar.

Bangladesh citizens who were detained are ascertained as Nur Hossain, Mohammad Iliays and Dil Mohammad of Pahartoli area of the town.

Police also seized the registered book of the hotel and took manager of it to the police station for interrogation, sources said.

Ashfaruzul Haque Tutul, Assistant Superintendent of Police (AS) in Cox's Bazar, confirmed the news.

He said they were held on secret information. They might have been involved in militant activities.
