67pc people now getting power: Muhith

Staff Correspondent, Sylhet: Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith on Friday confirmed that country`s 67 percent people are now getting power service.

The Minister made the clarification while inaugurating the newly-built office building of Gram Samiti under the initiative of Social Development Foundation (SDF) at Dholoipara in Khadimpara Union in Sylhet, this afternoon.

"And all the people will be brought under power connection network by 2021," the Finance Minister assured the locals.

While speaking in the programme he also said, "We are generating power as per the necessity and the country has no power crisis at this moment."

The Sylhet Deputy Commissioner M Shahidul Islam, SDF Managing Director A Z M Sakhawat Hossain and SDF Director Syed Aftar Hossain Piyar were also present, among others, at the programme.
