8 hurt in attacks on MP`s motorcade

Feni Correspondent: At least eight people including two policemen were injured as a group of local unit activists of ruling Awami League (AL) reportedly attacked on a motorcade of Haji Rahim Ullah MP of Feni-3 constituency in Sonagazi upazila of the district on Saturday night.

Sources said that a rival group of Awami League started to throw brick chips aiming the motorcade of Haji Rahim Ullah MP when his convoy reached in Ziro point area of the upazila around 8:00pm.

Meanwhile, policemen tried to bring the situation under control but the brick chips hurt them.

Later, hearing the attack, supporters of both group locked into clash, leaving six more injured.

Confirming the matter, Sonagazi police station officer-in-charge (OC) Humaiyun Kabir said that additional police forces were deployed in the area.
