ACC quizzes Ha-Meem Group’s MD

Staff Correspondent: Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has started interrogating Ha-Meem Group Managing Director (MD) and former president of Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) AK Azad on charges of amassing illegal wealth.

ACC Director also investigation office in the case, Meer Joynal Abedin Shibli started the interrogation around 9:30am on Tuesday at the ACC headquarters in capital.

A top source from ACC confirmed the matter to risingbd.com.

Earlier on May 9, Managing Director (MD) of Ha-Meem Group AK Azad sought time from ACC to appeal before it for interrogation showing a pre-fixed schedule. Following his appeal, ACC fixed May 22 for the interrogation.

There is an allegation that AK Azad amassed a huge amount of wealth by dodging taxes of his different companies and also laundered a huge amount of money abroad.
