AL doesn’t support extrajudicial killings: Obaidul

Senior Correspondent: Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said, Awami League does not support extrajudicial killings.

The minister made the assertion while addressing newsmen at Awami League president’s political office in capital’s Dhanmondi on Friday noon.

Following the Nayan Bond’s killing in Barguna, Obaidu Quader said, “The government or home ministry did not term the incident as extrajudicial murder. That’s an encounter. Crossfire and encounter are not same. Home Minister talked over the issue.”

In reply to a question regarding gas price hike, he said, “I have already talked over the matter. There are some logical reason behind the price hike. It is undeniable to adjust the price.”

Awami League organizing secretary also State Minister for Shipping Ministry Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Sujit Roy Nandi, Deputy office secretary Biplab Barua attended the press conference.
