Staff Correspondent: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said Awami League has no fear or love to India. India is our friend.
The Awami League leader made the assertion while addressing a discussion at the party's central office at Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital on Sunday afternoon.
He underscored that the government will not seal any deal with India against national interests.
Obaidul Quader said India is our friend. The friendship will be continued for the sake of country's welfare. If people don't want the relationship then, that will not continue.
He also said that BNP again brought complain ahead of the Prime Minister's India tour. The premier Sheikh Hasina did not go to India yet but BNP is bringing allegation of secret deal.
“We maintain positive relationship with India. But if we sign any deal with them, it will be in favour of our national interest,” he said.
Obaidul said, “I am telling you (people) clearly that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina cannot sign any deal with India against Bangladesh’s national interest.”
Jatiya Sromik League president Shukkur Mahmud presided over the meeting where Awami League joint secretary general Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Organizing secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim and other spoke on the occasion.
