Staff Correspondent: The model school of Abinta Kabir Foundation has been inaugurated at Capital’s Vataraon Wednesday. The esteemed Ambassador of the United States of America, H.E. Marcia Bernicat inaugurated the school.

In her speech, Marcia Bernicat said, "I have to say the foundation and everyone who is working for it, specially Abinta’s mom Ruba and everyone is very fortunate because Abinta left this amazing road map of what her dreams were and what she wanted to see done.

“And maybe in addition to bringing more students it would be really interesting to bring students who are inspired to be teachers here so they could be interns and work with the children”, she added.

It was Abinta’s passion to spread education among young children, especially those who are unable to afford it. It was her dream to see a time where no child is denied access to education, and now with the inauguration of Abinta Kabir Foundation School we take it on as our responsibility to fulfill her wish.

She believed that to educate a family, we need to educate the mother and girls of the household first. Hence, AbintaKabir Foundation School opens its doors for young underprivileged girls to give their dreams a fighting chance. The ambassador also added “I was saying earlier every child that walk's into Abinta's school will never be the same again.”

The Foundation also has five schools in Natore, which opened earlier in February this year. Furthermore, another school in Bashabo which is also going to start later this month.

Among other honored guests, Ms. Ruba Ahmed, Chairman of Elegant Group and Co-founder of AbintaKabir Foundation, Ms. NiluRowshonMurshed, Chairperson of Elegant Group and Abinta Gallery of Fine Arts, Joel Reifman, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of the United States of America, JainaJaruzelski, Mission Director, USAID (Bangladesh), Andrea Brouillette-Rodriguez, Counselor for Political and Economic Affairs, Embassy of the United States of America, WasimaParveen, Director and Chief Operating Officer, Scholastica School, were also present in the program.
