Actor Mithun no more

Entertainment Correspondent: Prominent actor and lyricist Sheikh Abul Kasem Mithun is no more.

He breathed his last early Monday at a hospital in Kolkata, Mithun`s younger brother, Sheikh Faruk Hossain confirmed the media.

The body will be brought back home this afternoon after formalities from India.

Family sources said that the body will be taken to his native village at Dargapara under Assasuni Upazila of Satkhira. After his funeral, Mithun will be buried beside his father`s grave.

Earlier on May 11, he went to visit his mother in Khulna but became sick. Then he was admitted to Islami Bank Hospital on Thursday. Later, He was shifted to India for better treatment where he died on Monday around 2:00am.

The actor left behind his wife, daughter and a host of relatives to mourn his death.

Sheikh Abul Kasem Mithun was born on April 18, 1951 in Satkhira. Tarulata, Challenge, Naram-Garam, Grehalakshmi, Chandana, Didar, Surrender, Baba Keno Chakor and Beder Meye Josna are among the notable films he acted in.
