Advance train, BRTC bus tickets from Sunday

Staff Correspondent: Sales of advance train and BRTC bus tickets on the occasion of upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr begin from Sunday morning. Everyday 18 thousand tickets will be sold and special train and bus services  will begin on July 24.

Besides, return tickets selling will begin on July 27 and that day tickets of July 31 to be sold. A passenger can buy a total of four tickets alone following the past years.

Railway sources said train tickets of July 24, 25, 26, 27 and 28 will be sold on July 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24 respectively at the important railway stations across the country from 9.00am to 5.00pm.

The additional train services will be provided five days before and seven days after the Eid, the sources said.   

Railway Minister Mazibul Hoque said that a man can’t buy more than four tickets at a time in a bid to stop ticket fraudster and more necessary steps will be taken in this regard.   

Eid vacation of all levels of officials and stuff of railway is canceled to ensure safe and smooth movement of home-bound passengers during the Eid-ul-Fitr, the minister added.

On the other hand Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) will provide a total of 900 AC and non-AC buses during the Eid.  

Advance tickets of BRTC buses will be distributed form its Motijheel, Gazipur, Joyarsahara, Uthli, Narayanganj, Double-decker bus depot and Kallyanpur depots.  

A help-desk will be set up at these depots to provide necessary information to passengers aiming to ensure hassle-free advance tickets, a BRTC source said.
