Arrest warrant issued against two policemen siblings

Patuakhali Correspondent: A Patuakhali court has issued arrest warrant against two cops for embezzling money in name of giving jobs in police.

They are Sub-Inspector (SI) Shamim Akon, 46, and constable Al-Amin, 34. They are siblings and son of Yousub Akon of Jamura Telikhali village under Patuakhali sadar upazila.

SI Shamim is engaged with Mohammadpur Police Station in the capital while Al-Amin in Barguna.

According to case statement, they took Tk 13.69 lakh in cash and through cheque with promises of giving two sons of complaint job in police, but they could not manage to give them job. Later, they denied to give back the money.

The victim Milon Dakua filed the case with Patuakhali Senior Judicial Magistrate Court on December 23, 2018.
