Auto rickshaw-minibus collision kills 2 in Habiganj

At least two persons were killed and three others injured when a CNG-run auto-rickshaw collided with a minibus in Kalarduba area of Baniachong upazila in Habiganj on Friday (July 3).

The deceased were known as Sahadeb Dash, 60, son of Shoshi Mohon Dash and Kishore Paul, son of Bimal Paul.

Baniachong police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Emran Hossain said, the auto-rickshaw collided with a passenger-laden minibus in the area this noon, leaving five people critically injured. Later, the injured Sahadeb Dash was sent to Habiganj Sadar Hospital where duty doctor declared him dead. Besides, Kishore Paul died on the way to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.

Shafiqul Islam, senior station officer of Habiganj fire service said, the auto rickshaw had plunged into roadside ditch.
