BAF helicopter crash in Ctg: Injured pilot dies

Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: Pilot Shafayet Sarwar, who sustained severe injury when a Bangladesh Air Force helicopter crashed at its base in Chittagong, has died.
Squadron Leader Shafayet Sarwar died at a hospital in Singapore around 8:15pm on Monday while undergoing treatment, confirmed his family sources.
Shafayet was taken to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka with critical condition after the crash. Later, he was shifted to Singapore for better treatment.
Earlier on May 13, the BAF helicopter crashed at its base in Chittagong, leaving all the three pilots injured. The accident occurred at the BAF Base Zahurul Haque, next to Shah Amanat International Airport.
The two others injured are Pilot Officer Fuad-bin-Ehsan and Flight Engineer Sergeant Mohammad Ferdous Kamal.
