BB to provide Tk. 200-cr for dairy development

Economic Correspondent: The Bangladesh Bank is going to build a fund of Tk. 200 crore for the development and establishment of dairy farms across the country, a move intended to help boost the dairy sector and milk production.
Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Dr. Atiur Rahman made the disclosure while talking to this correspondent of risingbd.com after a function in city on Thursday.
The BB boss said the money of this fund will be provided to dairy farmers to develop the dairy sector across the country in a bid to meet the shortage of milk.
The central bank, earlier, also provided Tk. 100 crore through Karmasangsthan Bank as collateral-free low interest loans Pran Dairy`s contract farmers.
Dr. Atiur Rahman said that the economy of Bangladesh is stable while the global economy face Recession.
He said the main goal of the central bank is to reduce inflation.
