BCL leader Isha expelled

Staff Correspondent: Dhaka University Kobi Sufia Kamal Hall unit Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) President Iffat Jahan Isha has been expelled from the organization for allegedly torturing a fourth-year female student of Botany department.

BCL central committee issued a press release signed by President Saifur Rahman Sohag and General Secretary SM Zakir Hossain in this regard.

The students said Isha called students agitating for quota reform to her room and tortured them including Morsheda Akhtar.

Hundreds of students from different halls gathered in front of the Kabi Sufia Kamal Hall in the wee hours of Wednesday to protest against the torture by Iffat Jahan Isha.

The house tutors went to the scene when the students confined Isha to her room at midnight. Proctor Golam Rabbani also entered the hall.

He emerged from the hall around one and a half hours later and announced they were going to expel Isha.

He also arranged treatment of a student who Isha tortured late on Tuesday night.
