BNP leader Hafiz secured bail

A court in Dhaka granted bail to BNP Vice-Chairman Hafizuddin Ahmed in a case filed against him under the Digital Security Act over ‘anti-state propaganda’.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Atiqul Islam passed the order on Sunday.

Earlier, Pallabi Police Station sub inspector and also investigation officer Nure Alam placed the BNP leader before the court with a seven-day remand petition.

Lawyers Masud Ahmed Talukdar, Mirza Hossain moved for the BNP leader while assistant public prosecutor Azad Rahman and Hemayet Uddin Khan Hiron stood for the state during hearing.

On Saturday evening, BNP Vice-Chairman Major (retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed was arrested at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
