BNP to hold demonstration Saturday

Senior Reporter: BNP will stage demonstration tomorrow (Saturday) in every thana of Dhaka city.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the programme at a press conference at the party’s central office at Nayapaltan in the capital on Friday after his party failed to get permission for holding a rally in the city's Suhrawardy Udyan and Nayapaltan. 

Earlier, BNP sought the authorities' permission to hold a rally at the Suhrawardy Udyan on Friday marking the 5 January general elections of 2014 which they are observing as ‘Democracy Killing Day’.

But the permission was not given by the police.

The BNP had then requested to police to hold a rally in front of its Naya Paltan headquarters but BNP also failed to get permission.
