Landline out of service: New number to reach fire service

Staff Correspondent: Landline services of Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Ltd. (BTCL) including the emergency helpline numbers of Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters have been disrupted across the country as its core cable was cut off in the city’s Moghbazar area on Thursday night.

As a result, the gridlock was created since Friday morning.

None was being able to reach the landline numbers of Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters for any emergency news.

Meanwhile, in case of any emergency news, fire service control room has requested everybody to contact these numbers: 01730336699 and 01713038182.

BTCL director Mir Mohammad Morshed (Public Relations) said Dhaka City Corporation workers snapped the core cable of BTCL while constructing drain in Moghbazar area last night.

“I hope the problem will be resolved within few hours,” he said.
