Bringing Vincent van Gogh`s ear `back to life`

Risingbd Desk: Dutch artist Diemut Strebe grew a replica copy of painter Vincent van Gogh`s ear earlier this year.
Living cells were taken from one of Van Gogh`s relatives and shaped using a 3D printer to resemble the ear the artist is said to have cut off in 1888.
The ear, which was placed in a nutrient rich solution to keep it alive, formed part of an art exhibition at a German museum.
