Call to use modern tech to increase crops production

Speakers at a workshop in the district have urged  the farmers to use modern technologies in a bid to increase crops production.

They were speaking at the workshop on `Increasing Crop Production`organized by the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE)  here on Monday. The workshop was inaugurated by Md. Mojibul Hoque Mia, Additional Director of Rangpur Division of DAE.

"Our crops production should be doubled to cope with the increasing population as well as declining arable land in the
country," they said.

In his inaugural speech, Mojibul Hoque Mia said, there is no alternative to increase crops production to meet national demand as well as survival of the farmers of the country.

Deputy Director of DAE of Panchagarh district Md. Najrul Islam presided over the workshop.

Field level officials and workers, farmers of all five upazilas and of the district and journalists attended the workshop.
