Chattogram reports 372 new virus cases, 5 deaths

Five more people have died from coronavirus or Covid-19 in Chattogram metropolitan area and Chattogram district in last 24 hours, raising the total number of deaths in the port city to 178.

Besides, a total of 372 new coronavirus patients were detected in Chattogram over the same period, taking the total number of confirmed cases in the port city to 8,852.

Of those newly infected, 259 were from Chattogram metropolitan area and the remaining 113 from different upazilas of Chattogram district.

Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, confirmed the information on Wednesday (July 1) morning.

372 more people have been found infected with coronavirus or Covid-19 after carrying out sample tests of 1,345 people at seven PCR labs in Chattogram in last 24 hours, the civil surgeon said.

Around 4,000 Covid-19 patients have recovered so far in the district, he added.
