Chicken trader dies as snatchers’ microbus bus runs over him

Staff Correspondent: A chicken trader named Sajib (18) was killed as a microbus of a gang of snatchers ran over him at Matsya Bhaban intersection in the capital.

At that time his van driver Hazrat Ali was slightly injured.

This incident took place around 1.00am on Thursday.  The microbus of the gang of snatchers ran over him at Matsya Bhaban intersection in the capital when they were fleeing after snatching. The injured van driver Hazrat Ali took Sajib to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital but the duty doctors declared him dead.

Sajib hailed from Gouripur upazila in Mymensingh district.

Hazrat Ali said that Sajib was going to Karwan Bazar in the van. Some snatchers came from a white microbus and wanted money. At first he refused to give anything, the snatchers showed a knife and took eight thousand taka from him. Later on, they ran over Sajib, leaving him seriously injured.
