Child found dead a day after going missing

Police have recovered the body of a seven-year old child a day after the child went missing in Chapainawabganj.

The body of Rima was recovered from a bamboo garden of her own area on Tuesday morning.

Rima was the daughter of Ruhul Amin of Charbagdanga union under Chapainawabganj Sadar upazila.

Golam Kabir, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Chapainawabganj Sadar Model Police Station, said the child’s uncle filed a General Diary (GD) with the police station in connection with her going into missing. Later, police initiated an enquiry into the matter. But, Rima was found dead at a bamboo garden in the morning.

It is suspected that the child was strangulated to death by miscreants after rape, he said.

Police has started an operation to nab the culprits involved in the incident, he added.
