Cop succumbs to Barishal road crash injuries

DMCH Correspondent: A traffic sergeant of Barishal Metropolitan Police succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Tuesday morning as a covered van had hit him on Barishal-Patuakhali road on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Golam Kibria, 29, hailed from Patuakhali district.

Hospital authority said the injured policeman was taken to the hospital around 7:30pm on Monday. Later, he was shifted to ICU in a critical condition where he died under treatment around 11:00am today.

Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost in-charge Bacchu Mia confirmed the matter to risingbd.

Earlier, the accident occurred when a speedy covered van hit Kibria in Karnakathi zero-point area in Barishal University on Monday, leaving him critically injured.
