DSE transactions cross Tk. 1288-cr Thursday

Economic Correspondent: Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the country’s prime bourse, witnessed this year’s highest transactions of shares worth Tk. 1288.55 crore on Thursday.
 
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX gained 67.79 points or 1.41 percent to reach 4866.19 at the close of trading on the day. Of the 300 issues traded, 200 gained, 83 declined and 17 remained unchanged.

The day’s top 10 gainers at the DSE were RAK Ceramics, Peoples Leasing and Finance, Orion Infusions, Aims 1st Mutual Fund, Navana CNG, Orion Pharma, Active Fine Chemicals, Matin Spinning, City Bank, and Grameen-1.

Meanwhile, the key share price index in the country’s another bourse – Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) –- gained Thursday, amid hectic trading on the last day the week.
 
The CSE key index, CSCX gained 146.44 points to reach 9080.56 at the close on the day. Of the 233 issues traded, 138 advanced, 76 suffered loss and 19 remained unchanged.
 
The value of the traded issues was Tk 76.81 crore on the day.
