Dhaka-Shillong-Guwahati bus service begins

Staff Correspondent: In a bid to boost the communication between two neighboring countries-India and Bangladesh- the trial movement of a new bus service between Dhaka and Guwahati via Shillong has been started.

The Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader inaugurated the bus service on Friday afternoon.

The first bus on the route was started from the capital`s Kamlapur Bus Stand after the inauguration ceremony.

While speaking in the inaugural ceremony, the minister said," The regular bus service will be started after conducting several test round-trips."

"Awami League led-government has taken such initiatives to heighten the trade facilities between the two countries," says the Transport Minister.

High officials of separate ministries and departments were also present, among others, during the inaugural ceremony.
