Dhaka secures spot in BPL final

Sports Desk: Dhaka Dynamites beat Comilla Victorians by 95 runs in the first qualifier of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL)-2017, securing the spot in final of the tournament.

Dhaka scored 191 runs losing 7 wickets in 20 overs, after the skipper Shakib Al-Hasan won the toss and opted to bat first at Shere Bangla National Stadium of the capital's Mirpur on Friday.

Dhaka's Evin Lewis hit 47 runs off 32 balls with 6 fours and 3 sixes while Joe Denly scored 32 off 25 with 2 fours and a six.

Kieron Pollard scored 31 off 18 with a four and three sixes while Shahid Afridi bagged 30 runs off 19 balls which includes four sixes.

In reply, Comilla Victorians managed to score 96 runs losing all wickets in 18 overs.

For Comilla, skipper Tamim Iqbal hit the highest 31 runs off 28 balls with three fours and a six.

Hasan Ali bagged 18 off 16 which includes a boundary and an over-boundary.

Mahedi Hasan scored 15 runs off 15 balls with two fours.
