Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: An alleged drug dealer named Mohammad Faruk (42) has been killed in a ‘gunfight’ with the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
The gunfight took place early Friday in the Ice Factory Road of Barisal colony in the port city.
RAB also recovered 200,000 yaba tablets, two pistols and a single-shooter gun from the spot.
RAB-7 ASP Mimtanur Rahman said RAB came to learn that drug dealers were assembling in the area and decided to conduct a raid. The drug dealers started firing at RAB, prompting the law enforcers to fire back that triggered a gunfight. Later, a bullet-hit body was found in the location.
