EC’s dialogue with journalists begins

Staff Correspondent: The Election Commission (EC) has started dialogue with media men to discuss issues related to the next parliamentary election.
The dialogue started around 10:00am at the conference room of Nirbachon Bhaban in the capital on Wednesday.
Election Commission will meet 71 journalists in two phases. The EC was scheduled to sit in talks with the editors of several national dailies, senior journalists and journalist leaders. The second phase of dialogue with senior journalists, journalists of TV channels and online editions will take place at the same time tomorrow (Thursday).
Director (Public Relation) of EC Secretariat SM Asaduzzaman said, "We are hoping that the meeting with media personalities will be meaningful."
The EC official also said that different issues, including electoral law reform, delimitation of constituencies, updating voter list, fixation of polling stations and awarding registration to new political parties, will get priority during the dialogue.
