Facebook to appoint representative in Bangladesh

The Postal and Telecommunications Department said Facebook has given full consent to comply with digital security acts, including the appointment of local representative in Bangladesh.

Alongside, the social media platform will also appoint a reseller, representative to pay tax to NBR and to ensure of accurate translation of Bangla.

The authority of largest social media platform gave the consent in a coordination meeting between Mostafa Jabbar, postal and telecommunications minister, and a high-level delegation of Facebook, at the BTRC auditorium in Dhaka on Monday.
