Fake female student at JU: One student suspended

JU Correspondent: Jahangirnagar University authority has suspended a student for his alleged involvement in admission test forgery.

The suspended student was identified as Al Amin, a final year student of Geography and Environment Department.

The university authority took the decision at an emergency syndicate meeting on Wednesday night, following a written complaint filed with the university proctor office.

According to the complaint, Mofsena Takia hailing from Nalitabari in Sherpur, had been attending the classes without admission from one year.

It was learnt that Takia did not passed the admission test under 2016-17 academic year but had been attending classes in Journalism and Media Studies Department.

Al Amin assured the female student that he would admit her in the department in the exchange of TK 4.0 lakh. She also paid Tk 20,000. But Al Amin failed to admit her.

The female student was handed over to her family on Wednesday.

A probe body will be formed for further investigation and Al Amin will be handed over to police, said the JU Proctor.
