Staff Correspondent: Writer, columnist and poet Farhad Mazhar was allowed to return home to his own custody following an application submitted by him on Tuesday afternoon.
Hakim Ahsan Habib, Metropolitan magistrate in Dhaka, gave him the permission after recording his statement under section 164.
Earlier, he was produced before the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court.
Lawyer Sanullah Mia, Syed Zainul Abedin Mejbah moved for the petitioner in the case.
On Monday, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) rescued Farhad Mazhar around 11:30pm when he was returning to Dhaka from Khulna in a Hanif Paribahan bus.
