Gas outage to hit parts of Dhaka Monday

Staff Correspondent: Parts of northern Dhaka will suffer a gas supply halt and low gas pressure for eight hours on Monday.

The outage will be from 9:00am to 5:00pm due to replacement of gas pipelines in the Dhaka Cantonment area.

A press release was sent by Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Ltd (TGTDCL) said this on Sunday.

It said gas supply will be suspended to areas from Zia Colony to the adjacent areas of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

According to the press release, the authorities concerned will shift gas pipelines to facilitate construction work of an underpass project near Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment School and College in Dhaka Cantonment.

The authorities will also disconnect gas lines to the commercial and residential in Kawla area including CNG stations, Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden, Dhaka Regency Hotel & Resort, Biman Flight Catering Centre, Kurmitola General Hospital, Army Golf Club, Civil Aviation Quarter, the press release said.

Gas supply will be at very low pressure in the residential and commercial areas that fall between Khilkhet and Nikunja areas during this time, the media release adds.
