Hanging body of Nakla upazila chairman found

Staff Correspondent, Mymensingh: The hanging body of Nakla Upazila Chairman Mahbub Ali Chowdhury alias Manir Chowdhury (65) has been recovered.

Police recovered the body around 8.00am on Friday from his residence in Kursha area of Nakla Upazila headquarters in Sherpur.

Officer-in-Charge of Nakla Police Station Khan Abdul Halim said informed by locals, police recovered the Mahbub Ali’s body, hanging from the ceiling of his house.

Police suspected that Mahbub Ali might have committed suicide.

Mahbub Ali used to live at the house with his second wife, the OC added.

Mahbub Ali Chowdhury was elected upazila chairman as BNP candidate.
