'Home Economics College cannot be institute'

Secretariat Correspondent: Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid that Home Economics College cannot be an institute as per the rule.

"Home Economics College cannot be institute pressing home the demand by staging movement. The entire matter depends on the consent of Dhaka University (DU)," Nahid told a press conference held at the ministry on Thursday noon.

Nahid said, “The institution is already affiliated with Dhaka University and the students’ demand of recognising it as a separate institute of the university is not a matter of whim.”

The press conference was organised to brief the competition titled "exploring the creative talent-2017".

The minister said the final competition will be held at Azimpur Govt Girls School and College on March 30.

School, college and madrasa students will take part in the completion, he said.
