Staff Correspondent: The 66th birth anniversary of legendary author, dramatist, screenwriter, playwright and filmmaker Humayun Ahmed is being observed today (Thursday).


Different socio-cultural organisations have organised different programs to mark the occasion.


Television channels have also chalked out special programs in celebration of the day.


Bangladesh National Museum has organised a 15-day exhibition featuring photographs, manuscripts and personal belongings of Humayun Ahmed.


Born at Kutubpur in Netrakona district, Humayun Ahmed (November 13, 1948 – July 19, 2012)   is credited with about 200 fictions.


He swayed the readers and publishing industry in Bangladesh for over four decades. He was also a distinguished dramatist, teleplay maker and film maker. His first television drama was Ei Shob Din Ratri, followed by Bohubrihi, Ayomoy, Kothao Keu Nei.


Shonkhonil Karagar is the first film made by Humayun Ahmed. Later, he also directed Aguner Parashmoni, Srabon Megher Din, Dui Duari, Shyamol Chhaya and other notable films. Ghetuputra Kamola was the last film directed by Humayun Ahmed.
